Proof

The certificate is the product.

The honest answer to “is this real water or tap water in a vial” is not a sentence on a website. It is a laboratory report you can open yourself, without asking us for it — and check against the lab that issued it.

  1. Every vial carries a lot number, printed on its label.
  2. That lot number is a web address. One lot, one page, no login, shareable.thebacwatercompany.com/lot/<your lot>
  3. The report lists each test against its pass threshold: benzyl alcohol content by gas chromatography (USP <621>) — 0.90% against a 0.9% ±10% specification; purity 99.9% against ≥99.5%; two impurity screens; refractive index; and pH 5.5 (USP <791>) against 4.5–7.0. Issued by Kovera Labs, verifiable on their site by sample ID.

Today there is one certificate, for the product as tested — its lot field reads “n/a”, so it is not yet a per-lot page. Per-lot pages open with the first production lot. We would rather show you one real report than a certificate we invented.

What you are actually worried about.

Is this real water, or tap water in a vial?

You should not take our word for it, and we are not going to ask you to. The only thing that settles this is a document with your lot number on it that you can open yourself — which is the entire reason the lot page exists and the entire reason we will not publish one before it is real.

It has been tested by an independent laboratory, Kovera Labs, and the report is on this page. It measured the preservative at 0.90% benzyl alcohol by gas chromatography, purity at 99.9%, and pH at 5.5, each against a stated pass threshold. It is distributed by Pure Chain Logistics Group LLC. What the report does not do is name a fill site or certify a lot number, and until it does, neither will we.

Will it actually arrive?

A fair question in this category, and a badge is not an answer. What belongs here is the carrier, the cutoff, the dispatch record and what happens when something goes wrong — stated plainly enough that you could hold us to it.

Am I overpaying?

Somewhere, probably — the category prices per vial precisely because per vial hides the arithmetic. Every pack here shows what a millilitre costs, worked out from the pack price in front of you. Compare that number against anyone, including us, and buy wherever it is lowest.

How much bacteriostatic water do I need?

That depends on your vial and the concentration you have been told to make, which is exactly what the calculator is for. Put in the amount of powder and the concentration, and it returns the millilitres to draw — and therefore how much water to order. It shows its own arithmetic so you can check it.

What is the difference between bacteriostatic water and sterile water?

Sterile water contains no preservative and is intended to be entered once. Bacteriostatic water contains benzyl alcohol as a bacteriostatic preservative, which is what allows a vial to be entered more than once. Which one is appropriate for you is a question for whoever prescribed or supplied your medication, not for a shop.

How do I know what is actually in the vial?

By opening the page for your lot number and reading the certificate yourself. That system is being built and is not live yet — and until a real lot has been filled and tested there is nothing honest to put on it, so there is nothing on it. Anyone showing you a certificate today is showing you one they made.

Will you tell me what dose to take?

No. Not in the calculator, not in an email, not ever. We convert powder and water into a concentration — that is arithmetic. What you take, how often, and how you change it is between you and your prescriber.
